"HV" High Volume Wet Permanent Drum Separators

Stearns’ HV (High Volume) WPD Separator is designed to handle the demands of increased production rates without adding additional drums to your circuit. The drum utilizes a wider arc magnet assembly to increase retention time for maximum magnetic recovery. The interpole magnet arrangement allows for numerous polarity changes to improve the cleaning of recovered magnetics. The HV WPD Separator provides outstanding magnetics recovery, losing less than 1 gram per gallon of tailing discharge.

Typical Applications

  • Higher-Volume Heavy-Media Processing (coal, iron)

    • Percent Solids in Feed: 20% or less

    • Feed Slurry Volume: 120-to-140 gpm per foot of drum width

    • Percent Non-Magnetics in Feed Solids: 10% to 60%

    • Specific Gravity of Concentrates: 2.0-to-4.0 S.G.

    • Maximum Magnetic Load: 6.0 tph per foot of drum width

Features

  • Increased capacity

  • Exceptionally high magnetic recovery and discharge

    • Typical magnetics loss in tailing discharge: less than 1 gram/gallon

  • Low maintenance operation

  • Offered in 30" and 36" drum diameters

  • Available in drum widths from 4' to 10'

  • Extended arc magnet assembly of 130° (approximately), with 6 main poles and 5 interpoles (1150 Gauss at 1" for 36" drum)

  • Heavy-duty stainless steel drum, tank and feed box construction

  • Greasable bearings housing assembly with seal arrangement

  • Separate, high-rise iron frame

  • Standard chain drive; optional direct or belt drive

  • 12 Ga. stainless wear cylinder
