Grate Magnets

Grate_Magnet Stearns' Grate Magnets serve as product purity policemen for free flowing materials such as carbon black, drugs and chemicals, cosmetics, food products, plastics, grains, spices, sugar, salt, and minerals. Grate magnets guard your product, plant and reputation against dangerous tramp iron. Stearns' Grate Magnets' effective area is 400 percent greater than in ordinary units. These units are easily installed in any hopper or floor opening, chute or duct. Collecting tubes with continuous magnetic poles along the entire width leave no "dead" spots.

Stearns offers a complete range of highly effective grate magnet designs: wing-type, drawer-type, single, double and multi-bank styles. These Stearns grate magnet assemblies are available in both four-bank fine iron separators and two-bank models for coarser tramp iron removal. They are adaptable for both rectangular and round duct systems.

Wing-Type: Single-Bank and Double-Bank Models

Wings on these models are attached to the outside of the frame and can be adjusted to fit openings with slight size variances from Stearns standard sizes. Special sizes are available upon request. The magnet case and wings are available in stainless steel or regular sheet steel. The double-bank units provide even more effective ferrous metal removal.

Drawer-Type: Single-Bank and Double-Bank Models

The popular Stearns grate magnet units are designed with drawer front and handle for inserting into chutes, ducts and other openings. Double-bank drawer-type models have a second bank of magnetic tubes directly under the spaces of the top bank, providing even more effective tramp iron removal.

Stearns grate magnet assemblies are available in both four-bank fine iron separators and two-bank models for coarser tramp iron removal. These units are adaptable for both rectangular and round duct systems. In four-bank models, the tubes in the second and fourth banks are installed so that they are offset from the first and third banks, giving the unit greater ability to stop and hold iron particles, to provide the ultimate in product purity.
